Touch function

Post by Adequat »

I can't find a common "Touch" command, to set the select file time stamp to "NOW".
I can find the in the Property tab a way to edit the file time, but it is of course long and cumbersome to type date and time of the file manually.
Or is there the desired command somewhere (I hardly believe it is not already implemented).

Thanks

Look under Tools|CKS and you'll find this: Miscellaneous / Timestamp / Set Modified Date to Now
You can assign any KS you want to it, so touching a file only requires one key-combo of your choice! (And of course, you can use a Catalog item as well, using command #ID or the timestamp command...)

Actually I'm inclined to raise this function to the main menu because I know it's quite popular. What holds me back is that the File menu or Edit menu (wherever it belongs) are so large already!

Opinions welcome!

With File | Properties since it's a property that is being changed, so not really with Edit.

Weren't you planning on giving the main menu a make over and some user configuration soon?
