Ignor sorting settings only on root Drive C:\

Post by sweety »

Hello,
I use xyplorer version 8.10.0005 on Windows XP SP3. I use it portable.
I Set sorting under View -> Current Tab Sort By -> Name than i use File -> Settings -> Save all settings and restart xyplorer.

It works on every drive (netwoork drives also on lokal d:\ and thumbdrive) but NOT on drive C:\ in root. If i select for example C:\windows he sort correct. If i check the sorting it always sort after len i even not dsiplay the column len. Set again and saved it but it ignores.

This behavior is since version 7.90.xxxx. I hope it is a bug because its annoying me to klick always on name for sorting correct.

Greetings, sweety

you probably have defined a "Folder View Setting" for C:
Please check under "View | Folder View Settings | Manage Folder Views" if you can see an entry for C: If yes, you can delete that entry. Afterwards your standard settings (sort by name) should be used also for C:

well, you can define specific view settings for each folder. For example, my standard view is "Details, sorted by Name". But for lots of folders i prefer to sort by "Date Modified, descending". If i define that as a "folder view" i don't have to change sort order manually whenever i browse such a folder.
It's also nice to save a thumbnails-view for picture folders or stuff like that. The possibilities are almost endless...
