Sorry for the confusing title. One thing I am missing deadly is the windows right click menu when I right click on empty space in Xyplorer. The thing is that I also use Xyplorer`s right click menu which I like. The solution I can think of is to call windows right click menu via shortcut so If I need the menu I can just invoke the key and bring the menu. Otherwise I find myself trying to click on files and folders to bring the windows menu. This is also a worse problem on network and Vpn drives, you know right clicking on a network folder might be slow many times.
thanks

Re: Simulated windows right click menu
I miss the system context menu too.
Especially because of the "new" entry.
Filling XY\NewItems is not an good replacement
since i use XY as portable and want to create new
files of apps installed on foreign PCs.
An work around is to - right click an folder
- chose "Explorer" - in WinEx go to parent folder
- use there the system context menu - create new file
- close Explorer - back in XY

Re: Simulated windows right click menu
I don't think this is a good idea.
Lets see what I see in my context menu in WE.
Apparently most items are related strictly to WE, and have no use of them in XY. XY uses custom list and its own view options etc.
Only the New... submenu and the Properties (of all selected items if any) should be there IMO.

Re: Simulated windows right click menu
Sorry your argument does not hold any ground there. Mainly because not everyone uses an empty WE right click menu like you have there. I have custom stuff that I want to be able to access. I do not like comparisons in general but big chunk of explorer replacements support windows right click inside empty spaces. Now I have not asked for right click menu inside empty space in Xyplorer, rather I am asking for an unintrusive support for it via shortcut.tedy wrote:I don't think this is a good idea.

Re: Simulated windows right click menu
I agree.
But again, on a x64 system you most likely will not see your stuff because XY is a 32 bit app and a 64 bit one is not planned any soon.
I miss some stuff in file-context menus because I run x64 OS.
