Dear friends,
For me an handy possibility would be to go one stap back. Specially with large tree structures -after going from one map to an other and back- takes a long time, because I have to walk back through the structure again.

I'm not sure if I understand you right... but, to jump back and forth between two tree positions (the current one and the previous one) press F7.
