:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Non-existent folder selected in history

Post by Gandolf »

I don't know if this should be a bug or a wish.

In the history list, if a folder is selected that does not exist then the folder before (or after) in the history list is selected, and displayed. This could be rather misleading since TrackerV3 appears to have selected the chosen folder, but in fact has selected a different one.

I thought that non-existent folders when selected displayed an error message, so it may have changed with the latest beta that provides a history list without duplicates.

It's a feature. For example CD-paths can be temporarily unavailable. The history silently skips any unavailable paths keeping them in the list for later use. Do you see a better way to handle this?

I don't like the fact that it gives no indication that the displayed folder is not the one selected in the history. I'll have a think about an alternative way of handling it.

Well, I had a quick thought.

Why can it not display "Currently not available" as it does if the CD drive is selected without a disk?
