A little problem: icons displayed only when selected

Post by Powerful Sausage »

Hi.
My files icons are displayed only when they are selected.
This problem appears only in thumbnails view, not in list view.

Because a picture explains better than words, here is a screenshot.

They vanished when I changed icon display size in Windows display settings (32 pixels -> 48).
I tried to restore previous settings but nothing happens, my icons don't want to come back. :(

I am using Windows Vista and this is the first problem I had with XYPlorer.

Hi,

this concerns only folders? Maybe it has to do with the new Folder Thumbnails? Try to turn them off in Configuration | Thumbnails.

I disabled folder thumbnails but nothing changed.
I don't understand, all thumbnails work fine, but I haven't any icon (drive, folder, files).
I tried without result to enable "Use generic icons" and to refresh caches in menu "View|Caches".

Maybe this screenshot is better than the first:

It must have to do with this.

Did you try a fresh XYplorer install? (Just run XYplorer.exe from some temp dir).

Reboot computer?

I mean, you changed something and then took it back. So everything should be as before. But it is not. Puuh, you got a system restore point maybe?

If you have another PC maybe you copy the XY folder onto a USB and try it on that?

BTW, what if you select such a folder with the Properties tab open (on Info Panel). Do you see the icon there?

It works on another PC (under Windows XP).

I see it (an icon of 16x16 size). I don't see the large icon.

EDIT:
Ooooops. My icons were always in 48x48 size.
In 32x32, there is no problem.
Sorry to make you lose your time.

48x48 icons aren't showed using Vista. It's quite strange.
