Hi !
I did a trial of a number of Explorer replacements, and TrackerV3 came out on top !
However, you have left out one feature of Windows Explorer, and that is that Recycle Bin.
I did a search and you mentioned investigating adding it and said that it seemed too difficult. Can you be more explicit on what specifically makes it difficult (I'm a software engineer)?
Xplorer2Lite has Recycle Bin, so it is possible outside of Windows Explorer to have it.
The reason this makes a difference to me is that I use it frequently as follows.
On occasion I backup a selected group of files to DVD-R and then I delete them. I then compare the contents of the DVD-R and the Recycle Bin to make sure that I am deleting only items that really did make it to the DVD-R - before actually deleting the contents of the Recylce Bin.
So, I really do need to look in Recycle Bin frequently.

Re: Recycle Bin
Yep, I know. But I like the low-level way TV3 shows the Bin: it's almost useless but interesting -- no other file manager does it that way.The_Dude wrote:Xplorer2Lite has Recycle Bin, so it is possible outside of Windows Explorer to have it.
Have you seen "Recycle Bin..." in the Tools menu? At least something...

Anywhere is fine with me.admin wrote:Both is indeed possible. But where/how to display it?The_Dude wrote:Is there a way that TrackerV3 could show only the total size of all the items in the Recycle Bin ? Or else the total number of items in it ?
If you would like suggestions:
- A separate entry on the bottom of the tree "Recycle Statistics" (selecting this would be like selecting a folder, except that you would just get an area with the statistics)
OR
- Bottom right corner of Tv3 (blank in my usage - I'm not sure if others' setups use this area).

I don't like your ideas.
I will not constantly poll the state of the bin.
I could at best have another entry in the tools menu (Recycle Bin Stats...). But I'm still not sure if I want to do this at all. What's the big news you get there? My Recycle Bin is always very full, and every some weeks I open it, and remove the oldest half. For me, Recycle Bin Stats would be totally uninteresting.

I didn't think about the process necessary - certainly any contant polling is to be avoided.admin wrote:I don't like your ideas.I will not constantly poll the state of the bin.

A tool would be fine.
The variety of ways of going about things by users is always amazing - my Recycle Bin is empty 99% of the time
