Mini-Tree expansion query/confusion

Post by j_c_hallgren »

Maybe I'm just not seeing the blantantly obvious, but there are times with MT that I get a bit frustrated, ok? Or possibly there isn't what I see as a ideal way to handle it...

Anyway, I have Auto-Optimize on so that it should keep things under some control...fine...but...there are times when I want to expand a given folder in the tree, but all it shows me is/are the sub-folder(s) at the next level down that I've used before and thus not all of them, so I've had to use the list to select the folder I want which isn't very efficient...

So what can I do strictly with left-mouse button on the tree area to fully expand (at least until I pick a sub-folder) that particular folder for one level? I don't want to use keyboard and going all the way over to MT TB icon and then back isn't too speedy either...Context menus on MT don't appear to provide a way to just expand the next level down and not the entire structure of the current folder.

And the behavior seems to vary for some reason that I've not figured out the pattern to..sometimes it expands the folder and sometimes not.

Thus, I'm asking: what am I missing or is there not presently a good way to do what I want? :?

2 steps:
1. Fully collapse node
2. Expand node

Ok...but...bear with me here...how do I know when I click on the blue "+" that I need to do this, other than then seeing that all the sub-folders that I recall being there don't show and/or by comparing to list where I may then see 20 folders vs 1 in tree?

You cannot see that because the MT does no know it and does not care. This is a good part of its speed.
To refresh all subfolders of the current and expanded node simply do Shift+F4 (Refresh current folder).
