I have Norton Systemworks on my machine that includes Norton Protected Recycle Bin. In Windows Explorer in my tree there is an icon for this Bin and when I right click there are options, with one that is “Empty Norton Protected Files.”
However in XYplorer, I can see the folder for NProtect, but there is not the same right click option. When I try to manually delete the files I receive this message:
“Deleting file from XYplorer’s raw Recycle Bin View Not Allowed.”
I would like to totally abandon using Windows Explorer so do you know a way to delete these in XYplorer? I am new to XYplorer and only a moderate computer user. Thanks.

Re: Deleting the Norton Proptected Recyle Bin
Hi and welcome to the XY forums!
I'm not familiar at all with that Norton product, so can only give you some pointers in general about XY and the Recycle Bin...such as this prior thread (which has a link to another related thread):
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2586
Now you get that msg because XY is accessing the RB more as a semi-normal folder instead of a "special" folder as Win Expl does...Using the Tools>Open RB, XY opens the RB via WE so that you should be able to do what you need there...at least I would hope so.
BTW, even though I use XY constantly, there are some rare cases when I still need Win Expl, as may you, so you maybe can avoid it but abandoning it might not be 100% possible.
Update: Found this desc of what NPRB is --- http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/securi ... 01.10.html
So it seems that it's sort of a nested RB...and thus you may have to use more conventional means to work with it...that's one of the downsides of certain app's that hook into system functions.
Now after reading this thread http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lof ... 46055.html, I'm wondering why you use this feature also.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

I suspect you see it, but it looks different or is at a different place in the tree compared to viewing it with Explorer, right?H08590 wrote:However in XYplorer, I can see the folder for NProtect, but there is not the same right click option.
