Is it possible to customise the tree view right click menu?

Post by petersboulton »

Is it possible or would it be possible, to add/remove folders to the right click menu on the tree view?

'Program Files', for example, is one folder I'd really like to see there which isn't currently there.

User-editing this menu would be a complimentary option to the Catalog, Favourite Folders and would (surely) simply enhance what's already there.

(P.S. Call me defensive, but please don't respond by saying there's already the Catalog/Favourite Folders. I know that, but the right click menu is already there too, so someone must think it's a good idea! So, all I'm doing here is agreeing with that someone and proposing a small improvement, OK!)

Call me stupid, but I don't get it. Which right-click menu do you mean?

I believe the menu you are referring to displays your Favorite Folders, or am I mistaken?

Ah.. I forgot, or never realized, but if you don't have Favorite Folders XY shows the Special System Folders when you right click there.

You can't change that list, but you can replace it with your own by using the Favorite Folders, or by using the INI-Tweak "PopupFullFavMenu" (Details here: http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/INI_Tweaks ) which would display the same as the Favorites main menu item.

Aside from that you could suggest that Don add Program Files to the Special System Folders.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that.

I guess I can therefore reproduce what I want, even if it means having to manually make all the folders which are on the default menus into favourite folders.

However, it doesn't seem logical to me that it has to be an either/or situation - i.e. specify one favourite folder and you lose all the default ones. Why does that have to be the case?

Wouldn't it be better to allow you to edit / add to / remove the folders you get here?
