Ability to set current date more easily when time stamping?

when you clicked to edit a date/time field - it came up with the whole field pre-selected. That way you could just hit Delete and Enter, and be done.

Seems like a potential intermediate solution to me also! As Mesh said, it would thus just require one more key (Del), which is even easier that navigating to UDC to run script.

Eventually having some alternate input method, such as spin and/or calendar, would seem to be ideal so that one could pick other values without having to key entire value.
