is it possible to implement a sub-option that would ignore part numbers for archive files like RAR, ZIP etc?
Under normal circumstances, you wouldn't rename the number of an archive, just the main name...

Ok...help me understand this...what is a "part number"? My ZIP files are named just like any other file, so not sure what you mean....and how would one tell what chars are what in a name?ivan wrote:For this:

I think he means files like something.part1.rar, something.part2.rar, etc But the real question here is : why would one do that really ? Because usually if you want to rename such a thing, you don't rename one of those parts alone but all of them, so there's no real point here. Select them all, enter "new name.part<#01>" in Batch Rename and voila!j_c_hallgren wrote:Ok...help me understand this...what is a "part number"? In WinZip or WinRAR you can choose to split your big archive into parts upon creation and each part is numbered sequentially. But if you go into rename mode in XY, the part number is also selected even though that it is never supposed to be changed. Therefore, when renaming each part individually it would be better if part number is ignored.j_c_hallgren wrote:Ok...help me understand this...what is a "part number"?
