Yep, Explorer does the auto refresh.

As for how XY can do same as Explorer... maybe rename xy to explorer.exe, set company to MS, and reverse-engineer their code to figure out how it tells the server its a MS product. :shock:

I tried this in my old Explorer replacement (ExplorerXP) and it wouldn't do auto refresh on the net drive, and had no option to do it either. :?:

Or reset the system clock by 1 second each time you access a directory to give the impression of speed.

Your method requires no changes be made to XY... better wikify it before we forget!!
