fail to refresh (even after refresh)

hello there,
I have been using tracker v3 and was very pleased with it untill yesterday.
When i added two subdirectories to a folder (i did this with another prog than tracker v3), tracker did not show these directories, in fact it still does not show them, not even after a restart

Windows explorer shows the folder structure correctly!
I don't see how this is possible?
Do any of you have met this problem?

Works fine for me in Windows XP. With "Auto-refresh on file system changes" turned on both the tree and the file list update. With Auto-refresh off "Refresh File List" and "Refresh Folder" do exactly that.

What is your O.S.? Do the subdirectories have unusual (or foreign language) characters in them? Have you tried creating subdirectories in a different folder?

Just some ideas to try that might help to isolate the problem.

my OS is Windows XP home.
the folders do not have special characters (i think they are colled '20x30' and '10x15' )
I have already created subdirectories before, without problems.
This is what bothers me, since a restart of my pc doesn't help.

I certainly did not hide them on purpose.
I will look at it tonight (when I have access to my hom pc: i am at work now).
How can I hide/unhide folders, should this be te case?

"Hidden" is one of the standard file attributes. You can use TrackerV3's General tab, uncheck "Hidden" and click the green "plus"-symbol you'll see then (gosh, I have to redesign these things!). You can as well use the shell's "properties" dialog.

TV3 will show hidden folders if you check "show hidden files and folders" in configuration/general.

Unhiding or hiding a folder does not update the display of the folder in the tree. The folder display in the file list is updated. It's necessary to rebuild the tree to update the hidden / unhidden state of the folder. Is this a bug or a feature????

Correctly observed. I would not say it's a feature

It's one of those things: "I really should do this one day, after I've done all the more important stuff."

EDIT: well, it's not as bad as I thought

: the current folder and all its subfolders are correctly updated, but not any other open branches.
EDIT 2: fixed it.
