Strange behaviour of preview, properties and search "window"

Post by mumajs »

Hello,

since today updating to 28.40.0604 I see last window of preview, properties, find files window on the top of files, separate window, left in middle of the screen. Sometimes it is clickable and I can switch between preview, find files, but sometimes it is just rectangle. However I thinkg it is an issue, and not something required.

I also noticed that .604, and also .603. I have to hit CTRL+F twice to see find files window, otherwise it open the special bar on the bottom, but it is empty.

Same here. I have attached a screen cap of 28.40.0604 on startup. Nothing I have done will remove this when XY starts. I have to F12, F12 to get rid of it. I am going back to .0603.

I also see the info pane at start up at the weird location.

After I have dismissed it all seems ok. When I reinstate it it appears in the correct location. If then click around and then click empty space it looks like this:

You can see little red artifacts in the pane.

Cheers

I know it is a work in progress, but the green squares in the @JohnM screenshot above, I am still seeing too in .0606, they are remnants of the transparent part of icons, which currently don't display transparently, also it can get in a situation where the tick and cross glyphs are visible too eg.

Also, I have just started getting this error on the Preview tab for video files, not sure if it is related to any recent IP changes, but I don't get it in the PP.

Both confirmed and glow-up-caused. Fix comes.

I can still see the red artifacts in the Info Pane.

To repro, with the Info Pane hidden, navigate to a LV showing >0 files/folders. With nothing selected, press <F12> to show the Info Pane:

Update: clicking on the Info Pane tabs gets rid of them for as long as you remain in the folder. Changing to a different folder brings them back until you again click on one of the Info Pane tabs.

Right clicking the Find Now button results in the following error, and silent close upon ok'ing it.

Also when the "info panel" is hidden and I would like to search for files, after CTRL+F I see empty find panel and I have to use CTRL+F again, that still persist.
