I'm glad to share that since v28.30.1405 XYplorer has modern file dialogs everywhere:

Select Folder: The old dialog, SHBrowseForFolder, has been replaced with the Common Item Dialog in all instances where only folders, and not folders and files, were selected. That was 14 out of 22 instances. Overall, the new dialog is much more user-friendly. It saves navigation history and supports the navigation pane, aka tree view, as well as search and favorites/quick access. It generally behaves like a little File Explorer

Which means that QuickSwitch should work properly inside XYplorer in 2 ways:
1. Open folder. If you want to copy your files anywhere, e.g. by using File -> Copy to -> Browse you can quickly open target folder via QuickSwitch.
2. Switch tab. Press Win+Shift+Alt+0 and select only path from the menu to open it in current XYplorer instance.

Don't forget to check the last XYplorer versions, it got massive UI upgrade!

Fixed Menu annoyances

• The empty AutoHotkey window may appear after the Menu appears.
• The Menu may disappear after frequently selecting multiple items in a short period of time.
• The Menu activation hotkey would stop working and the file dialog would become inactive after activating BlackList.
• The Menu might not close and stay above all windows after pressing Esc or clicking anywhere (#88, #94).

Please share your feedback about QuickSwitch behavior.

Fixed

• Special characters in paths from Explorer were displayed incorrectly (#149).
• Special paths from Explorer like "This PC" may cause "Catastrophic failure" (#185)
• Paths from XYplorer were not displayed if exactly one tab was open in XYplorer.
• The active Directory Opus tab was incorrect if it's path was contained in the paths of other tabs.
• The active Total Commander tab was incorrect after enabling Settings > Theme > (show) locked tabs checkbox.
• Total Commander console may return wrong path to the wincmd.ini.
• File dialog may close after switching the path.
• Copied paths may have been truncated incorrectly.
• An error about (any) incorrect directory that was entered in the settings appeared every time the program was restarted.
• An accidentally entered space or tab in the "comment" field of the shortcut to a favorite path no longer displays an empty path in the Menu.

Features

• Tray menu: right-click the icon in the system tray, to show a menu with useful options

Other

• Inverted "AutoSwitch" and "BlackList" icons. Now they show option state (gray = disabled)
• Significantly reduced disk usage and improved performance.
  • "Nuke configuration" checkbox (Reset tab) no longer deletes pinned paths nor "Auto Switch"/"BlackList" values for each dialog. You need to check required "reset" checkboxes manually.
  • Favorite paths (theme tab) may not be updated in the Menu if an individual shortcut has been changed. To enforce update, open and close the settings or restart the application.

Fixed regressions

• Fixed unresponsive Menu became unresponsive after file dialog error message about non-existing path.
• Explorer returned empty paths and the following "icons error" after opening special paths like "This PC".
• Settings may popup behind the screen edge.
• An attempt to pin the path sometimes pinned the wrong one.

Special version of QuickSwitch that includes a glass theme in three variants: Mica, Glass, and Acrylic (Windows 10.0.26100+). It can affect the appearance of settings and file dialogs.

  • Icons in the selected directory can have any of the following file extensions: ico, png, jpg, jpeg, tiff, tif, bmp, gif
  • You can replace icons from the archive with any images with theese extensions
  • Select a directory that contains icons with the same names as those in the release archive ("AutoSwitch", "Settings", ...), and QuickSwitch will display the icons it finds

Total Commander

• Improved support for older versions of Windows, WinPE, and the recovery environment.
• Added correct handling of configuration passed via the /i parameter.
• Increased speed of user command creation.

Other Improvements

• Ctrl+Shift+Win+0 and tray menu now displays favorite and pinned paths on first launch. If Menu was triggered from desktop or tray, path will be opened in your default file manager (XYplorer or TC allows to change it).
• Fully portable: the main QuickSwitch.exe executable now does not depend on any icons or folders. You can extract it and run from anywhere.
• Significantly reduced disk usage and improved performance.
• Input fields in the Settings have been enlarged.
• Options on the "Menu" tab have been renamed:
  • "Add all file dialogs of current app to Black List"
  • "Send Enter after switching path"
  • "Show paths index & activate them with keys 0-9"
• Documentation has been updated and included in the release archives.
• Added all installed fonts in drop-down list for changing Menu/Settings font.
• Support for copying multiple paths at once has been restored.
• Relative paths ../ and ./ are now displayed in the dialog.
• Code size have been reduced, and old libraries have been removed.
