Broken: Scrolling in ListView and all other Vertical Scrolling

Post by Zardoz2293 »

Somewhere after v28.40.0206 (2026-10-03) [working] and now on current v28.40.0400 (2026-10-05) the vertical mouse scrolling broke in the LIST VIEW and all other vertical scrolling is broken. Host MacBook M4 Pro Max with Client Windows 11 Pro.

Always worked from v28.40.0206 (2026-10-03) and BEFORE.

Mouse Vertical Scrolling performed via MacBook Pro built in Track Pad.

v28.40.0401 - 2026-10-06 12:41

Working = List View, some others list working

Not working at all =

(1) F9 > "Jump to Settings..."
(2) F9 > "File Info Tips & Hover Box" > "Select Standard Fields..."

(the above do not scroll even when you click into the control, you must manually click the scroll bar and drag it to move the list)

Mouser pointer has to be over the list.

(assumption= app has focus / active) How else would it happen? Even clicking into the list control:

(1) F9 > "Jump to Settings..."
(2) F9 > "File Info Tips & Hover Box" > "Select Standard Fields..."

I'm guessing the reason why [ F9 > "File Info Tips & Hover Box" > "Select Standard Fields..." ] doesn't work even when you click into the list and attempt to scroll is because the main window's List View seems to be the control or class which is receiving the events. I cannot vertical scroll in the [ F9 > "File Info Tips & Hover Box" > "Select Standard Fields..." ] and while open, moving the mouse pointer over the the main app List View, I can perform a vertical scroll. Not sure why this would be needed or desirable.

Strange. Does not happen here.

Are you using any 3rd party software that intercepts window messaging?

Here's a little test app. Do you get any text feedback (see image) when you wheel over the form or over the three picture boxes?

Can installed back and forth on the versions below without changing anything or rebooting:

v28.40.0206 - 2026-10-03 19:18 = WORKING

v28.40.0207 - 2026-10-04 15:17 = SEMI-BROKEN [BROKEN] (ULTRA SLUGGISH, WORKS, DOESN'T WORK)

v28.40.0301 - 2026-10-05 14:53 = COMPLETELY NON-RESPONSIVE

all performed on F9 > "File Info Tips & Hover Box" > "Select Standard Fields..." list. All results are consistent and behavior is always the same.

I'll check your test app.

All three appear to generate the same information. Each directly below the associated list, and at the bottom, always under the left list. There are no data elements visible in any of the lists.

If I do a scroll up or scroll down the numbers change, but regardless of where the mouse pointer is or how many delta numbers change, it always stopped with the same numbers.

(please see my prior posting on when the problem appears to have been introduced).

Delta=2! That explains it. Delta is expected to be a multiple of 120.

Is it always 2? Never other values or negative values?

What exactly does that mean? In the context it always worked before flawlessly until v28.40.0207. Will there be a tweak to allow for smaller Delta changes for mouse input devices? Is this also related to a scrolling speed?

ALSO, It apparently does work, IF, one very aggressively (impractical) performs the vertical scroll (via Track Pad built in on MacBook M4 Pro Max) will it scroll, but it's has to be a violent movement to get it to scroll.
