Option to keep folders at the bottom (after files) when "Sort folders apart" is on

Post by Broham32 »

Hey there,

Currently, with Configuration | Sort and Rename | Sort | Sort folders apart enabled, the only placement option is "Keep folders on top". If that's unchecked, folders still follow the files' sort direction, so they only end up at the bottom if I sort descending.

Wish: a setting to keep folders at the bottom, below all files, independent of sort direction. Something like a "Keep folders on top / Keep folders at bottom" choice would do.

Use case: my Downloads folder is mostly files, and I sort it by Modified. I want to browse it oldest-to-newest (ascending), with the files first and the few folders grouped at the end, with those folders still following whatever sort column and direction I've chosen. Today I can't get this: ascending puts folders on top, and descending reverses the order of everything.

Ideally this would also be saveable per folder through Folder View Settings, but a global option would already solve it.

Thanks!

Makes sense. Currently no time for it though. It's on the todo list.
