Single Click Folder Icon in List View Doesn't Expand

General\Tree and List\Expand tree nodes on single click= selected

When in List view, a single click on a folder icon inconsistently expands the folder
If I first double-click and expand the folder it will then expand just by selecting the icon
Also, assume the parent folder has many sub folders say 40. If I select the folder icon on the first 10 sub folders it may expand them but none of the others will when their icons are selected.

The feature works well in a fresh instance, right?

No it actually is worse when XY is first launched. It improves with use. For example, in a parent with many subs, if the first sub works and I access the next in sequence they will as well; but if I jump to the bottom subs they will not.

Also, the subs of some parents wourk and others don't.
Network or local doesn't seem to have an effect.

I've been unsuccessful in establishing a pattern.
