UXY

Post by admin »

In case you were wondering: I'm not (only) dozing away in the hot summer sun while watching soccer. At the same time, I'm working on the next generation, the next level of the XY user interface: UXY. Virtually every control you'll see won't be a real control, but just an owner-drawn image of a control. That means: complete control over the appearance (and it's going to be as hip as it gets), freedom from old and new Windows bugs, easier maintenance, (even) lower memory requirements, (even) smaller file sizes, and (even) faster performance. It'll still take some time, but progress is promising!

 and awe.

That sounds slick as hell, like UI endgame. :)

Edit: what's the stack? How is it accomplished? Any screenshots yet?

Well, actually the mentioned PotPlayer indeed allows to fully re-draw/style the UI with mere XML and and PNG sprites.)
Waiting for some example screenshots when it would be possible!

...and I got excited about a unix (linux & macos) version...!🤦‍♂️

Just thinking aloud: since UXY would allow to "re-draw UI", how about adding "own/new" scrolls somewhere among closest additions?
Dark scrolls had been a wish for many years, so this would be the best preview-show for the upcoming huge feature.

Sure, it's already on my list. I might even do the menu. Then it would be 100%. It would look identical on each Windows version, and also on Apple, Linux and what not.

Just updated my beta for the first time in a week and immediately noticed the new UI in my various inputselect() lists.

Some bugs of course, like the window being huge and un-resizable, but UI upgrades are always exciting.

The UI already looks really good to my eyes, so I'm curious where it'll be going from here... I don't have the vision :ugeek:
