Every time the info panel is opened or closed, XYplorer registers that action as a change in settings and turns the "save settings" icon to orange. This happens even when toggling the panel without actually changing anything in it. I assume that toggling the panel is a change in settings because XYplorer has to remember the state (opened/closed) of the info panel.
Could you add an option "Info panel status" to `General > Startup & Exit > Save Settings > Save changes to disk immediately > Apply to` (setting #462)?

Re: Don't register toggle info panel as changed setting
I agree that it feels a bit too much that toggling the info panel registers as changed setting (while changing checkboxes in the info panel usually does not). OTOH all toggles in the Window menu do that. Hm.

Re: Don't register toggle info panel as changed setting
Yes, it does feel strange, especially since a similar action like showing/hiding the menu bar doesn't trigger a settings change.
For me, it's not just a cosmetic issue though. I still struggle with crashes due to some messed up shell extension that I can't fix or figure out. To not lose any settings, I have to click the save settings button regularly because I don't remember whether I changed a setting or whether I just toggled the info panel
