Q: Disable or change Drive Button Bar Captions Only or Per Button Bar Row Caption disable?
Hello, new user here coming over coming over from longtime use of CubicExplorer. Unfortunately the changes in Windows since the last version from 2012 have caused increasing issues (plus no dark mode).
Anyway, I am quite impressed an overwhelmed at the power and functionality in XYplorer. I've gotten things set up how I like and all is well.
File Menu Button bar
Buttons Button bar
Drive Button bar
All set up fine.
I was, however, wondering if there was a way to disable the Drive Button captions only or change them to be the volume labels of the drive because on the button bar the text/letter of the drive is already visible on those buttons. The button already has the text "C" right on the icon so the text below of "Drive C" is not really needed for myself. I think it would be nice if there was an option to have the Captions for drive buttons either be the volume label for the drive (ex "System C", "Gamez D", "Music E") or the free space (350GB C, 1.2TB D, 90GB E), or disabled completely while still keeping other button captions enabled.
With all that said.
1). Is there a way to change the Drive Button Captions (volume label, free space)?
2). Can Drive Button Captions be disabled without disabling all Captions (y/n)?
3). Is there a way to set per Button Bar Row Caption settings (ideal example of a per row setting: Buttons Only/Buttons+Caption/Caption Only)?
Anyway, thanks, great product.

Answering my own questions with, "No but there is a workaround of using Text Buttons"
Additionally, wanted to ask about this item I noticed that may be a bug or operating as intended. I am not sure as there are so many options that interact.
In Dark Mode.
Tools > Customize Tree > Show Section Colors - Enabled
Favorites > Boxed Branch - Enabled/set for several drives
Favorites > Box Color - Enabled/set for each boxed drive with different values
Everything looks good. Then I wanted a more Slate colored interface so I set a value for:
Configuration > Colors and Styles > Highlights & Dark Mode > Color Tint to about 230.
The interface looked great with one glaring issue.
All of the nice Section Colors and Box Colors got mushed out of color and caught up in the tint.
It seems like the highlight for Section Color and Box Color is applied before the Color Tint which wipes out most of their color.
Is this a bug? If not is there a setting to allow the highlight to process after the tint so that the Section & Box Colors remain visibly distinct on the tinted interface?

Thanks for reading.
Well, that "bug" is rather a feature. The idea is to create an overall consistent picture in dark mode. Keeping the original light mode colors would look terrible. You have some control over the degree of adaptation via the option "Configuration | Colors and Styles | Highlights & Dark Mode | Dark mode | Adaptive colors", but the colors you are talking about are not affected by the setting.

Thank you for looking.
I guess the alternative method to preserve the Box Color functionality is to actually adjust UI color elements.
Thanks again, very powerful.
Catalog has been set up already with a few apps commonly used while working on files (unlocker, exif clear, etc).

I have full control. Maybe the Box Colors are toned down too much. I can look into it when I find some time. I'm actually happy that someone uses Box Colors, I haven't heard much about this feature in years.

Re: Q: Disable or change Drive Button Bar Captions Only or Per Button Bar Row Caption disable?
I like it quite a bit but as you can see I have more than a few drives so it helps.
On Another topic is there a way to call the Optimize Tree function from a script? Auto-Optimize is too aggressive (as I saw mentioned in a request).
I'd like to set up a script if possible to call Optimize Tree on Startup Event & Switch Panes Event (didn't see an open/load tabset event or that would be one as well).

Re: Q: Disable or change Drive Button Bar Captions Only or Per Button Bar Row Caption disable?
Just letting you know - i'm using Box Colors to differentiate drives for more than 10 years already, so surely it's a useful feature.!
Yet i share the opinion, that Dark mode kinda makes colors "too changed". On my example you can clearly see that Box colors basically get "same".(while i'd prefer them to retain initial colors and maybe get darker/transparent to compliment with Dark)
