Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Re: Error while Saving Settings
Edit the startup.ini file in
Assuming you use the default config folder, then
File | Restart without Saving
C:\Program Files\XYplorer to have this contents:Code: Select all
[Appdata]
Path=%appdata%\XYplorer64File | Restart without Saving

Re: Error while Saving Settings
Create the file then, and put that contents in it, afterwards make sure you restart without saving settings.
Your old config should still be in
or did you manually move it to "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\XYplorer64" before any of this happened?

Then use this contents:
If your old config is still there.
Code: Select all
[Appdata]
Path=%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\XYplorer64-

It is unable to pick this location.
It starts with evaluation which is not intended.

Re: Error while Saving Settings
With XY running use this menu item:
File | Settings Special | Load Configuration...
then navigate to where your old config is and pick the XYplorer.ini
then if everything loads how it was before, put wherever that path is (of the Xyplorer.ini) in the startup ini in the <xypath> folder you can just put it is as a full path like:
File | Settings Special | Load Configuration...
then navigate to where your old config is and pick the XYplorer.ini
