How to open a Favorite File/Folder in a NEW tab automatically?
Hi,I am using XYplorer v28.30.
I want a very simple behavior: when I click on a Favorite (from my Favorites menu or list), I want it to open automatically in a NEW tab.Right now, it always opens in the current active tab and replaces my current folder. I have looked everywhere in the configuration but I cannot find the option to force Favorites to open in a new tab by default. How can I configure this ?
Thanks.

Iirc no. Hold the shift key while clicking, that's the way to do it.

Re: How to open a Favorite File/Folder in a NEW tab automatically?
Thanks for your quick reply. I knew about the "Shift+Click" method, but I am looking for a way to make it automatic.
In my previous file manager (QTTabBar), this was the default behavior, and I would really like to keep clicking normally without having to hold an extra key.
Is there really no setting in the configuration or an advanced tweak to make this action "new tab by default" for all Favorites?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, a tweak to open Favorites, Bookmarks and Catalog folders in a new tab would be nice.
Even Firefox has a tweak for this, although it supports middle click on bookmarks.

How many Favorites do you open in a day? IMO the "Shift+Click" method is good enough.

I haven't counted exactly, but I definitely open more than a hundred per day. That is why I am looking for automation; having to press 'Shift+Click' so many times throughout the day is very frustrating."

But you don't want a hundred open tabs, so you have to close all those tabs. Many clicks...

Re: How to open a Favorite File/Folder in a NEW tab automatically?
You misunderstood me: I never keep a hundred tabs open at the same time on my screen! I usually have around 10 to 15 active tabs to juggle between my various work folders and corporate cloud spaces. I constantly close old tabs as I move forward during the day.
This is my standard daily workflow: I need to pick a document here, process it over there, and switch between multiple network locations. Favorites are explicitly meant to save time. Having to use "Shift+Click" every single time completely breaks the speed and fluid experience of the app. This efficiency is exactly why I bought a XYplorer license. All I am asking for is a simple setting to make "Open in a new tab" the default behavior on a normal click for Favorites.

Thank you. BTW, if someone uses that option they probably expect/want that Bookmarks and Catalog folders open in a new tab, too.
At least Bookmarks, because they don't support middle click, just like Favorites.
