Web URL as Favorite

I use Favorite Files as a source for quick reference to documents I have saved locally
I would like to also add web links but adding the URL fails and a search of the forum shows an old post saying the only way is to save the web link as a shortcut and reference the shortcut.
Is this still the case?

Then my syntax is incorrect. Here is what I've tried:

"Conversions" https://www.rapidtables.com
"Conversions" "https://www.rapidtables.com"
"Conversions" https://www.rapidtables.com/index.htm
"Conversions" "https://www.rapidtables.com/index.htm"

All of them work here.

You have a double slash in "Conversions" https://www.rapidtables.com//index.htm, but even then it works here.

Currently this needs to be disabled:

Configuration | General | Controls & More | Miscellaneous | Open favorite files directly

With it enabled you could still do it like this though:

"Conversions" ::open 'https://www.rapidtables.com/index.htm';
