Redirect xyfc to xyfc2 to make search results to the old forum work again

Right now, web search results for XYplorer linking to the forum result in a 404 because the old forum in www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/ was replaced with www.xyplorer.com/xyfc2/. Can the XYplorer website automatically redirect requests to www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/ to www.xyplorer.com/xyfc2/?

Can't do that. All the bots would be back.

Oh damn, I didn't know that bots were what killed the old forum.

Bots were not what killed the previous forum. It was a completely overwhelmed and inefficient host that Don has switched to a number of months ago.

Since there are many references to the old forum within the forum and all over the web, I will conduct a test over the next few days to see if I can re-use the old URL. It's possible that the bot defeat was not caused by the new URL, but rather by the new host's measurements.

The experiment is running now (xyfc2 back to xyfc). It jumped from 4 to 400 users online within 10 seconds (!) and now, 20 minutes later, it's about 500. Speed is still perfect.

It needed a few tries after changing the bookmark before it worked.
But the speed is fine just now
