mouse wheel and text preview

Post by Muroph »

this happens when you use the mouse wheel to scrool a text file in the preview panel (and not in raw view).
when you reach the top/bottom of the text, xy selects the previous/next tab in the info panel.

the latest beta i have where this doesn't happen is v7.20.0013.
i don't know about v.0015~.0021, tho.

using v7.20.0023 with XPSP2.

Hi,

I have also the same problem as Muroph.

And I use a Logitech mouse, one more strange behaviour for a Logitech mouse.

Too bad. I actually had the problem myself (MS Mouse) and fixed it in a way that should work for all mice. Hmmm... It appears that Logitech sends the scroll message to the parent if the child cannot scroll no more. (Idiotic!) I'll see...

No, I can't see a way to fix this.

OTOH, I don't like the tab scrolling by wheel anyway. I also saw that it does not work to good. Sometimes the input focus is grabbed by some other control on the tab and the wheel stops working... So I might simply remove it, and the problem is solved! :P

I plead for remove! I'm working in three environments - each of them with a different behaviour reflecting the cases here. Since scrolling through info panel's tabs is there - i once in a while think our brain doesn't work that way. Like in my library: when i got sufficient information about a book i'm looking for, i do my pick by catalog - only when i'm diffuse about where to find information i go to the shelf "scrolling" through the covers.

Me too!
I never used it, and I lost count of the times it happened by accident.
