The System Cannot Find the File Specified
The System Cannot Find the File Specified
I have executables in a mapped drive to a local drive folder.
When I go through xyplorer, I get the error messabe above. When I go through windows explorer, I don't get an error.
Can anyone point out what to fix?

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
sorry for lack of clarity.
going through xyplorer:
1) when I run the executable in the mapped drive while in xyplorer, I get an error.
2) when I use the unc path in xyplorer, and run the executable, I don't get an error.
3) when I go the local drive in xyplorer and run the executable, I don't get an error

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
Too much clarity. It was just the word "run" that was missing.
1) But something else is missing now: HOW do you run?
2) I'd also like to see a screenshot of the error message.

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
Mapped drives point to network folders, not to local folders. Was that a typo?

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
Mapped drives are user dependent.
Is the drive mapped with the same user as in XY ?

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
No. Before using dropbox, we had mapped drives to a NAS. When dropbox came into our workflow, we share local folders and then map the drives to the local folders. A little unconventional, but keeps all of our file references in tact.Mapped drives point to network folders, not to local folders. Was that a typo?
Not clear on the question. I am the user. When I run the executable on the mapped drive in windows explorer, i have no problem.Mapped drives are user dependent.

When I run the executable on the mapped drive in xyplorer, I get the message shown above.

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
I can achieve something similar using SUBST. E.g. in the XY address bar:
But no problems starting an EXE from there.

No doubt. I only have the problem on one computer. I'm asking because I cannot figure it out. Same setup's elsewhere without the problem.

Re: The System Cannot Find the File Specified
Ok...I'll give it shot. Do I need to backup all my settings first?
