Improve performance in scrolling through directory

Post by alan65 »

I have a particular directory that contains over 300 files. XYplorer is unable to scroll smoothly from top to bottom of the folder while in detail view. It will scroll part way, then stop for a while, scroll some more, then stop for a while, scroll some more, then stop for a while, etc. This performance issue is not present in Windows Explorer, xplorer2, OneCommander, File Voyager, Double Commander, Total Commander, or FreeCommander. (I tried them all.) This performance bug has been present in every version of XYplorer that I have used in the past 5 years. It would be nice if it were fixed. No one else's file browser has this problem.

Hello, i think you have to check your Custom Columns if this is possible that is a strong column is reading through all the files - because that will take time.

text setcolumns();
Is a status bar template defined?
Is XY excluded from your antivirus scanner?
Which file types does the directory contain?
Does it work in a fresh instance?
