I wrote this little guide in order to sort listed items by their names' length, as 'len' default column works on full paths:
viewtopic.php?t=29053
Then I realize it fails to allow me to actually sort that column by a natural sort order.
At first I thought it was an internal calculation, number of listed items, racing condition of some sort or anything else preventing my intended function to work but no, no matter what I do, I can't have a perfectly sorted list.
1. is there any other way I can achieve this?
2. is this some flaw that can be fixed by any other means?
3. why each time I perform a new search I have to re-enable, re-configure displayed columns that are relevant to my needs?

Re: Problems Sorting Items by their Lenght
Your trigger is list, not browse...
Is this ticked?
Configuration | Find and Filter | Find Files & Branch View | Find Files | [x] Search results inherit current columns

Setting TRIGGER to BROWSE fixed the sorting problem, thanks a bunch.
Yes, that config was already checked.

I guess I understood what you meant. UNTICKING that config makes the results list more akin to what I need.
