XY occasional problem on loading

Post by acheton »

Hi Don,

Since starting using XP x64 I have occasionally had a problem, whereby during loading XY seems to fail to load the UI completely, or set for the screen size. I keep meaning to report it and have only just got around to it. An example below

Closing and reopening always solves the problem. I'm not sure exactly why it only occurs occasionally.

thanks

Ach

Does resizing the window by grabbing one of its borders with the mouse correct it?

It usually starts maximised so I'm not sure that I can resize by drag and drop. I'll try it next time it occurs.

Ok I think that this usually happens after a reboot. If I resize the window things return to normal. Subsequent resizes etc work fine. Hope that helps track it down.

If you start the app after a cold reboot, or if the app is already on after wake up from hibernation?

I usually sleep my PC but today I did a full reboot at which point the issue showed.

Weird. Maybe the booting was not fully completed?

I'll happily try again, although I'm not quite sure how to measure booting is fully completed. My usual login screen appeared and I logged in. I'll try rebooting again later and leave it a few minutes before launching XY.

Yes, it sounds crazy, but it's the only idea I have for now. :)

I've tried it out once. After a reboot, I waiting 30 minutes before I loaded Xy and it loaded fine. I'll try it out a few more times and see whether it works or not.
