64bit exe size

Post by w64bit »

I noticed that exe size is 39MB for 64 bit vs 11 MB for 32 bit.
I know that the exe size for a 64 bit it's larger than the 32 bit version but it seems a little too large.
It's like this for debugging purposes or this will be the final size?

It's because it has zero dependencies. You can throw it into any Windows (from XP onwards). It's all included.

This should be listed into features.! In age of Net Framework "programs", zero dependencies is quite a thing.

explain better zero dependencies ...

i have upgrade xy 32bit v27.90 to 64bit v28.00 and yes, x64 version exe file is 40MB vs 12MB of same version x32, but also seems slightly slower when opening 64 version (and iI have intel i7 with 16GB ram). and since i don't see rilevant differences in my daily use with old x32 version, i'm considering switching back to the x32 version

edit: i've read this thread viewtopic.php?t=28930
very useful. but for daily use of an average user i think the x32 version remains lighter and faster in opening. This is my humble opinion. maybe i'm wrong. no lic issue to come back x32 version?

BTW why it's slow RN? Even on My SSD I noticed slowdown but forgot why it happens on x64...

Compiler is not yet optimized, and other reasons.
