This will be very useful for me! When I have plenty of files that are named as a sequence (example001, example001, example002....etc) then only a file "example" with a toggle arrow next to it. If you press that arrow, the files expand, and you will be able to see all files. Something like a tree view. This feature already exists in "Paraview" which is a visualisation software. See the images for an example:

isnt it like an expandable folder with extra steps ? if a file sequence is doable , hopefully expandable folders also .. ( universal use case than just sequence )
