Hamburger status bar message is covered when menu is long

Post by kiwichick »

Not necessarily a bug, but definitely something I'd like to miss in the future 😉

If the Hamburger menu is long, and opened in the left pane, it covers up the status bar preventing the message from being able to be read.

What solution do you suggest (within the Euclidean universe)?

Excuse me, Don? What solution do I suggest? If there's no way to prevent that behaviour, or you don't know how to prevent it, you could just say so.

I don't understand why you're asking. Why would I have a solution? XY is your app not mine.

I didn't ask you to implement it.

Well, it's like this: windows overlap other windows and unless they are half-transparent, you cannot see what's under a window. IMO that fact that things in the front visually stay in the way of things in the back is something we already experience at a very young age, and somehow get used to it. We have to live with it.

And yet, there have been times in the past where menus/dropdowns/etc have covered things up and you've fixed it. But, if that's not the case this time, that's fine.

Since you own the Hamburger, why don't you fix it? Hint: make it smaller.

Being nice to the paying customers is not something common around here. I find it refreshing even when I'm on the wrong end.

But, on sort-of topic, and FWIIW, I noticed with versions of x64 up to about 0008 (? or thereabouts), that whenever I deleted a file that was too large to fit in the Recycle Bin, the warning box (notification window) that comes up in such situations always came up behind whatever other windows (usually just XY) were also open - whereas previously, said box always came up on top. Now, with the latest betas, said warning box comes up on top again, as it is supposed to.
