File Tree Behaviour
I am a recent convert to XYPLorer and like what I have seen so far. I have a number of frequently used folders set up as favourite links and like how they can be accessed with a click on empty space. What I do not like is the way that clicking on such a link expands the file tree to that location. Can that behaviour be switched off?

Welcome!
You might want to look into Mini Tree.

Re: File Tree Behaviour
Not sure Mini Tree helps. It has the same behaviour as the normal tree - i.e. when I click on a favourite folder it expands to that folder, as well as opening the location in the relevant pane. After navigating to a few favourites the tree expands significantly. What I want to be able to do is click on a favourite, have that open in the relevant pane, but leave the tree as it was.

Re: File Tree Behaviour
Use a locked mini tree, no automatic expansion will happen. Never^^

Re: File Tree Behaviour
That sounds promising - how do I lock it - I can see no reference in the help files?
