2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

XYplorer settings, tabs, disappeared (!!!)

Post by alxdvc »

hi everyone,

I´m running a portable version of XY plorer, I´ve been using it over the past year, never got this issue.
After a few days of non using it, today I open it up and it has lost all my settings, tabs, texts and color formatting.... it´s a complete mistery as I haven´t touched it.
Is there some sort of setting backup? how could this have happened?

There is an automatic backup in folder <xydata>\AutoBackup.

Argh, lost by one minute. :)

yes I loaded the .ini in autobackup, still my settings were not saved, I had to start from scratch.
I´ve evoked a few times the .ini from the backup and now a subfolder "autobackup" keeps on being added each time

You should not directly use the backup as the new app data. It's meant to be copied to the regular app data location.
