Vertical Bars not visible right away when using 2 panes

Post by leerjet »

I have "Show Grid" checked from the "Customize List" settings. I can see the grid, however when I click in the 2nd pane, only the horizontal grid lines show, until I move the mouse up and down in the window and then the vertical lines are drawn.

What XY version?
What OS?

I can't reproduce that with XY 27.00.0300 on Win10.

XY 27.00, Windows 11 Pro
For what it's worth, I've customized the background color of the active pane.

The vertical bars are drawn on the back pane, but they are very subtle and admittedly difficult to see. However, it is a deliberate decision to draw the back pane with less contrast.

I suppose it might not have been clear when I describe the problem. It is the *active* pane where the grid is not drawn. Steps: 1) have XYplorer set up for dual panes and grid lines; 2) Click in one pane to make it the active pane; 3) Now click the other pane to make it the new active pane; My result: there will be zero grid lines displayed on the active pane. However, the lines are drawn as I move the mouse up and down in the newly active pane. Clearly the grid lines should be displayed immediately upon making a new pane active.

I can repro something similar, in fresh,
  1. Set grid lines to Red to make it obvious.
  2. Enable Dual Pane F10
  3. switch panes by clicking into the list on each pane.
  4. result = vert lines are drawn on mouse over (or scroll)
It seems this is the cause:

Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Usability | Highlight hovered items

Fantastic! Thank you!

Unchecking that feature makes the grid lines work properly. Now all I have is a curiosity what the feature is *supposed* to do, as I cannot see what is changing as I move my mouse in the active pane. However, that is, just a curiosity. I'm thrilled that it fixed the problem.
