Show Folder Sizes making single-click on tabs unresponsive

Post by zanny »

XYplorer 26.70.0300

Part of my process of slowly upskilling in all facets of the app, I bought a NAS and have 3 major areas and I have now locked them as tabs in each pane, with the first tab being a work tab "default tab" then the three major areas.

I couldn't get the tabs to consistently respond to single-clicks to change tabs, and fast double clicks and triple clicks.

I went in and out of various settings but eventually came to conclusion it's related to overall system performance. But I have a Ryzen 3600 with 16GB ram and NVME.

Stumbled upon trying to untick "Show Folder Sizes" icon on the toolbar, and this immediately resolved the issue.

Now that I have a NAS with 20TB of free space, free space is not a concern for me. So keeping it unticked is fine. I'd prefer to have a more responsive XY anyway.

Folder size calculation is currently done in a foreground thread. This will change.
