Probably,
Configuration | Preview | Preview | Audio/Video preview | Use native handling in the preview pane

Of course!

Re: .wav files autoplay but .mp3 files don't.
Checking "Use native handling in the preview pane" makes no difference. Ctrl+F11 still does nothing. The artwork does not appear in the preview window.
Re: .wav files autoplay but .mp3 files don't.
It makes a difference insomuch as it HAS to be enabled for you to have any chance of seeing artwork for flac in .0105, whether for you in particular something else is also contributing I'm not sure. I haven't tested flac yet myself. Works! (for me).
@Don: I have noticed with just testing the new feature, that if you swap from an artworked mp3 to say a m4a file, or rather a non artwork supported file, the image stays up of the previous artwork, if you go from a artworked mp3 to another mp3 without artwork though, it does show blank in that case.

Re: .wav files autoplay but .mp3 files don't.
OK. I deleted Roaming files one at a time and isolated the problem to my ks.dat file. When I deleted my ks.dat file, Ctrl+F11 worked fine and the album artwork is displayed as you described. If I restored my ks.dat, Ctrl+F11 no longer worked and no album artwork. I reset Keyboard Shortcuts to defaults and Ctrl+F11 works fine along with album artwork. I added a few keyboard shortcuts many, many versions ago and I will add them one at a time and let you know if I break things. (I did not assign Ctrl+F11 as a custom keyboard shortcut.)
UPDATE: I copied the keyboard shortcut text from my ks.dat file as custom.txt. I copied the reset to default keyboard shortcut text as default.txt then compared them. There were several differences but is this the issue?
custom.txt: Ctrl+F11 Snapshot Video Preview
default.txt: Ctrl+F11 Show Preview Pane

Re: .wav files autoplay but .mp3 files don't.
Well, yes that is a issue if Ctrl+F11 is assigned to a different action than default.
I don't know how you got the ks.dat to be text readable, but that snapshot action is only for videos and AFAIK only applies to the Panel anyway. Was the Pane even opening and closing for you when you pressed Ctrl+F11? Anyway you should be able to just reset that one key in your orig modified ks.dat to remedy, without losing all your mods.

Re: .wav files autoplay but .mp3 files don't.
Ctrl+F11 did not appear to do anything.
This is how I got the keyboard shortcut text. XY copies the specified text to the clipboard then I pasted it into a text editor. Don has some really nice tools buried in XY. I created 5 custom shortcuts and I have already added them back.

Yep, fixed in next beta.jupe wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 22:40 @Don: I have noticed with just testing the new feature, that if you swap from an artworked mp3 to say a m4a file, or rather a non artwork supported file, the image stays up of the previous artwork, if you go from a artworked mp3 to another mp3 without artwork though, it does show blank in that case.

Yup. You didn't receive a private message. It appears my attempt to send to "admin" failed.
As a favor, could you advise the best way to send requested information to "support." Thanks.

Really like the end result. Preview window sized to my liking. "Use native handling in the preview pane" ticked on. Autoplay ticked on. Select desired FLAC file. Ctrl+F11 and song plays with embedded artwork displayed in preview window. Ctrl+F11 again to cancel and return to normal display.
