I'm trying to move some files around. They come from ripped CDs so they have long filenames like "Donizetti- La Fille Du Régiment [Disc 2] 06 Donizetti- La Fille Du Régiment - Act 2- Ecoutez-Moi, De Grace!"
When I try to do it by dragging and dropping, with or without right click, I get a message that I should be using Custom Copy. However, Custom Copy is ticked in the configuration.
Any help or suggestions?

Re: Overlong files not moving...
The setting to support overlong filenames is ticked and custom copy is to be used for the operations you're trying to perform?

That name is not so long. Can you show that message in a screenshot?GUIguy wrote: ↑07 Feb 2025 00:49 I'm trying to move some files around. Re: Overlong files not moving...
Sorry, but I had already renamed that file. But here's another example: trying to copy files from right pane to left pane.
The third file, track 07, has a filename of "Mozart- Die Zauberflöte [Disc 1] 07 Mozart- Die Zauberflöte - Act 1- Wie Stark Ist Nicht Dein Zauberton.mp3"GUIguy

Re: Overlong files not moving...
That's copying (can't move from CD) from CD to hard disk?

No. Just from folder to folder on the same Drive. It's an external USB HDD

Re: Overlong files not moving...
Thanks for checking into it. Could you please give me the list of ticks that need to be made in the configuration to make sure that I got them all?

Re: Overlong files not moving...
Will do. And I'll be honest and let you know if anything was unchecked when I was trying it.

Re: Overlong files not moving...
Not checking "For cross-volume moves only" looks like a good idea for your setup.
