2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

Lag on "This PC"

Post by adplmx »

Still trialing this and I've run into a lag whenever I click on "This PC" which is not there in Windows Explorer.

I might have a slightly unusual setup in that I have a network (Samba) drive, a cloud drive (pCloud), and a drive for the PS5 development kit (and yes... the stackable one) in there. However, I still think there shouldn't be a delay (couple of seconds).

Any thoughts on this?

All these drives are mapped to drive letters? And the free space is correctly calculated for all of them?

Yes, they are mapped to drive letters.

However, free space is not applicable to offline drives, including if I turn the PS5 off (Windows explorer reports nothing at all for an offline PS5 drive, you report 0 / 0).

That's the answer I was hoping for. The free space check is probably where it lags.

PS: Could you provide (post or email) a screenshot of your "This PC" drive list. I'm looking for hints on how to determine the online/offline status of a mapped drive.

Sure, here it is:

and

As a funny side comment, pCloud (the software, and the support) absolutely refuses on principle to let me configure any drive letter except P: (because pCloud), but they don't stand a chance against Sony whose software simply grabs P: for themselves - and that's that :-D

I could repro the dramatic delay. The situation should be much improved in next beta.
