File Delete "Nothing To Delete Message" in Error

Post by tim_crouse »

I had a PDF file highlighted and tapped the DEL key and a message popped up stating "Nothing To Delete".

I tried the r-clk del menu but still got the same message. I had to shut down XY and Restart, and then the del operation worked.

Before the delete operation stopped working I had tried to open the PDF by dbl-clicking to open it. The PDF did not open. It was showing in the preview pane. I tried to open it a second time but the PDF did not open. After the second failed attempt to display the PDF I attempted to delete it.

Note there was no issue with the PDF itself. I opened it outside of XY and it opened fine ( in another location).

I hope you can fix this, I am at a work stand still. I cannot carry out my design duties without XYs Delete function working properly :)
You believe me right :),

Of course kidding, It's cool app that I enjoy using in my work-flow. , I look fwd to the updates

Best Regards

Maybe:

Code: Select all

v24.60.0103 - 2023-07-17 14:00
+ Document Preview: Added tweak to customize the Focus Steal Fix.
        PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt=msg
By factory default (and for upgraders) it's set to "msg" (quotes are optional), but
you now can set it, for example, to "msg.pdf" if your PDF preview handler steals the
focus as well, or to "" if you don't need the fix.

Yes, it's probably the focus. The color of the selection rectangle should tell you if the list has focus.

I guess it is possible the PDF stole the focus perhaps behind the scenes, but visually the file was selected.

I will pay attention and see if I can recreate it at some point.
