Custom File Statusbar

Post by Garonne »

Hey Don,

I'm not sure if this has been requested before, but...

Do you think you could add something like a "Custom File Statusbar" option? Similar to "Custom File Associations" or "Custom File Image" you can define the Statusbar Info based on the current selected file(s)? Obviously we need a means to select if the Status Bar entry could be valid for multiple files or not.

Then you could have:

A Status Bar for images (single file only): Dimensions and Color Depth, maybe Photo related data, too
A Status Bar for Audio (single files): Audio length and quality.
A Status Bar for Audio (multi files): Audio length only.
A Status Bar for Video (multi files): Video length.
A Status Bar for Video (single files): Video length, video dimensions, etc.
A Status Bar for different files: Displaying some various different info.

Default Status Bar as defined in Configuration for everything else.

Yeah, I've seen that... But that's just one template for all files. You can't add different templates for different files in it.

Well... I'll have to work with that one, I guess...

Nearly all the criteria you mentioned in your original post can be done with this feature, use lasso select to show only length for multi files using default template. Keep in mind when you make a template that if you use say a audio specific property and have selected an image then nothing will be returned, so if you include all the properties for diff file types in your template you'll only see what applies to each.
