Failed to rename a file or folder
Failed to rename a file or folder
I found an error when I was using it, but I don't know why, this error did not have any pop-up prompt, just when I named the file or folder, the error occurred when I renamed the input Chinese characters would become? System built-in resource manager input is normal, I tried to change the system font, also tried to reinstall the system, but to no avail, the system after the installation is normal, but after a period of time will still appear this error

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
1) Is it only some characters (as described here: viewtopic.php?t=27784) or all Chinese characters?
2) Does it make a difference if you set the system locale to Chinese? That's Windows settings "Clock, Language, and Region" > "Change input methods" > "Administrative" tab > "Change system locale".

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
All Chinese characters are not good, the system language area default is Chinese, because I am in China, and this error is inexplicable, has not appeared before use, sometimes restart the computer and good, do not know what is going on

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
I tried to upgrade the new version. I used the version v26.20.0000 before. After I upgraded to v26.30.400, I still couldn't enter Chinese

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
No, this is not the beta version, I think it should not be the version problem, I am using the version of v26.30.0400, did not upgrade the beta version of v26.30.0410
Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
Then please do upgrade to the latest beta version and report back if you still have the input problem. If you read the changelog viewtopic.php?p=223605#p223605 you will understand why is that important. Thank you.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
I have upgraded to the beta version, and then use to see if this error will occur, if it will still appear I will feedback
Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
After upgrading to the test version 26.30.0411, it still worked a few days later, until yesterday, this error still happened, I could not type Chinese, whatever Chinese character would become a question mark, this question mark is because I did not check the "automatically replace invalid characters" option in Settings - Sort and rename. If the "automatically replace invalid characters" option is checked, the input Chinese will disappear directly, while the input English and numbers are normal, and there are also errors through the help - online support - check update, which can not be updated, only download the installation package from the official website to update, because I saw this error too late yesterday, so there is no feedback. Today, I got up and opened the computer to see that there was still this error, which also appeared a few days ago, but because the computer was normal again after restarting, there was no feedback a few days ago.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
This error prompt box: What does it say in English?
Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Rename | Auto-replace invalid characters: If this is checked (or unchecked?) you can (or cannot?) type Chinese characters?

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
Type in https://www.xyplorer.com/version.php in the browser displayed after 26.400.0000
I wrote, if the selected input any Chinese characters directly will disappear, the effect is similar to delete characters, if not chosen any Chinese character input will become "? ", This means that no Chinese character can be typed with or without the check

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
I have a hard time understanding these posts. But if I consider these points...
1) It seems that the problem with typing Chinese characters is sometimes present, sometimes not.
2) Whether my fix in v26.30.0410 made any difference is unclear.
3) Countless Chinese users report no problems with renaming files.
... my conclusion is that the OP's problem is rather a problem of his specific Windows system.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
Is there a solution to this, because I've tried to change the system, and it doesn't matter what system it is
