XYcopy crashes in branch view when copying to root folder

Post by PlorerXY6 »

Using current new official release but has been occurring for some time. With XYcopy on for copy, I'm getting constant freezes when copying in Branch View, copying a subfolder file to the root folder – can close the frozen XYcopy window with X and not responding prompt, & XYP then responds again, but obviously shouldn't freeze like that. Note - every now and then, it won't freeze, 90% tho it does freeze.

Happens often, is it related to branch view trying to refresh at same time w/ the new copied file? Can the XYCopy bug be fixed?

when copying in Branch View, copying a subfolder file to the root folder
Need more info:

1) What is the root of the branch view?

2) By root folder you mean a drive root? Is it the same drive as the branch folder's drive?

3) How do you trigger the copy process?

4) Do you see the same issue when doing the copy in foreground?

5) Do you see the same issue when you turn off auto-refresh?

Root: G:\example\example [my branch view starts here, I call this my root of it]

Copying from subfolder of G:\example\example\subfolder to above root - 90% chance of freeze
Copying from subfolder anywhere else in branch, eg other subfolders - no freezing

Turning off branch view auto-refresh doesn't fix, is there a different one to try turning off?

It almost seems like XYP needs some sort of pause after copying that's currently conflicting when to that root folder (ie no subfolders above in branch view)

I'm trying with right click drag and drop "copy here"

When I turn off custom copy (I think that's foreground copy?), then XYP itself freezes rather than XYcopy 90% of time, only copying to root in branch view, not subfolders, and XYP is stuck at 20% CPU usage (doing something obviously, think XYPcopy has the same cpu usage thing). Have to end task XYP. I note it does copy after all, it's just XYP needs an end task in both cases.

Cannot reproduce. :|

To disable background processing (for which XYcopy exists), uncheck this: Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Background Processing | Enable background processing
