Suggestion for an additional function to Rename Special

Post by iamnemo »

Rename Special has a useful function "RenameTitleCaseExceptions" that allows you to capitalize more correctly the names of files and folders that are titles of publications. Unfortunately this messes up words that should remain completely in uppercase.

For example: WHO becomes Who, WTO becomes Wto, IMF becomes Imf, UN becomes Un, IBM becomes Ibm, ABBA becomes Abba.

It would be useful to have an additional function that would preserve such words as they are.
RenameTitleUppercaseExceptions=WHO;WTO;IMF;UN;IBM;ABBA

great idea! and thank you for adding this. this will come in handy with my wrestling show collection (WWF, WWE, WCE, ECW, etc.).

question, you mention this :
This is the factory default: RenameTitleCaseExceptionsKeep=ABBA;IBM;IMF;UN;WHO;WTO;XYplorer
i upgraded from .0000 directly to .0106 and searched the INI for this entry but couldn't find it. i didn't see a message in the beta notes for upgraders. should i manually add this entry ? if so, which section should it go under ?

disregard. after the upgrade i forgot to close and reopen which then put the setting in the INI for me (doesn't happen on the launch of the new version, only after close and restart).
