BETA: Live Filter changes

Post by jupe »

Using v26.10.0208 fresh, run SC filter , 8; produces this:

In my normal config, doing the same on some certain tabs, blanks/empties out the list. It seems like it is toggling on the last filter maybe, but not showing the LF header, toggling any LF, then rerunning resolves it.

Not sure if you can repro, but for me this is still happening in .0210, I've got repro steps for fresh now though, load fresh XY, switch to tab 2 Documents, then run orig script, or I made complete repro script,

run """<xy>"" /fresh /feed=""::seltab 2; filter , 8;""";

refresh or rerunning orig script will return items in list.

I have a probably related issue in v26.10.0215. It's reproducible.

In a :fresh instance but with with "Redirect typing to live filter box" enabled;
With more than one item in a folder [see below*];
I type and live filter finds one item;
Then right-click to create a new folder;
XY announces "subscript out of range";
But it creates the new folder;
Then fully crashes on "subscript out of range".

Attached are some pix of various error messages seen. I have a video too but it won't attach; can maybe do Dropbox if you need it. These error messages show v .0212 but I'm definitely running it with .0215 downloaded just an hour ago. The video shows the .0215.

* Note that this doesn't happen if all the items in the folder match the live filter input - only if there are both matches and mismatches.

Confirmed. This is a serious problem (in the sense that it will take me several hours to find the perfect solution and hopefully it can be done before the game tonight :ball: ).

Code: Select all

Creating a new folder or file in a fast-filtered Paper Folder resulted in an error
Since it was reported as fixed i hope Bug thread is a proper place to ask = what ancient magic allows to create smth inside Paper Folder(filtered or not), since PF is not a location but a list of paths and can only show what was created somewhere else?..

There's still a bug, in the new v26.20 official.

In a :fresh instance I enable Live Filter type-ahead. Then in a folder with a dozen or so files I type into Live Filter to highlight just one of them. Then I select that file and delete it. Live Filter now says it can't find any, as expected. But now when I press Escape to exit Live Filter I get a Subscript out of Range errors, then eventual XY crash as before.

BTW In other attempts to reproduce this (before I got the sequence right) a zombie file was created after I had deleted all Live Filter-found items. See attached picture. That's gone now so was evidently an internal XY artifact, not a real file.

Just to let you know. I am getting this error in Windows 10 with latest updates and the latest official XYplorer version 26.20. I have 2 portable instances running from the same install folder. It is repeatable (4 times now) as I am comparing a number of new and old files in separate directories with each instance of XYplorer on a different screen. When I have life filter results and I delete a file from the results list, I get the message box as shown above and the crash of just the one instance I deleted from. The file ends up deleting to the recycle bin each time although the instance crashes.
