:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Problem accessing an external drive via mount point

Post by Patrick Schönbach »

v21.10

Hello,

I have a strange issue: I have two external drives mounted via mount point, not drive letter. One drive (500 GB) works fine, but for the other drive (16 TB), I get the error message:
Error.png
Both mount points are a subfolder of the same parent folder. In Windows Explorer, however, both mount points work fine.

What coulld be the reason for the different behavior? Is this a bug?

Suddenly, it works - even without a reboot. I have no idea, why. :?:

Any clues?

But, why did it work immediately in Windows Explorer but not in XYplorer? This still smells like a bug, but it is probably very hard to narrow down.

When checking for existence, XYplorer asks Windows and Windows replies. Nobody knows what's inside the black box.

I have the same problem. But for me it never started to work, to fix this I had to first create a folder on the mount and it seems it doesn't work when the partition doesn't have a RECYCLE.BIN folder, as long as that special folder exists I'm able to browse the mount with XYplorer, if I delete the newly created folder it still works, but if I also delete the special folder now it stops working.
