:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Crash on accessing User menu

Post by Linkaday »

crash on clicking User menu - as often as i want too! (same w/ Alt + U).
Sorry, I should have started a new thread right away, instead of interfering  with JohnM's "Crash on rename" http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=2470 with a by now apparently not related thing.

Testing:
deleted udc.dat, started XY and then saved the blank UDC settings. No problem to get to Manage commands. Closed XY, copied the old udc.dat back to XY home. Accessed User menu successfully by Alt+U. XY seems to read and display it flawlessly. Saved settings. Closed.

Restarted, crash on access of User menu again.

Restarted, went to XY home (with the intention to look for rights inconsistencies). With udc.dat selected clicking on User menu got me a "Runtime error '14' Out of string space." yelling at me. On confirming XY crashes. :?

(I know there are at least two no longer existing application paths on my UDC OpenWith).

Actually placing your bug in JohnM's thread was pretty smart because it is the same bug that surfaces here and there. Or should I say "was"? -- it's fixed!

Well, I spent most of the day lying in the sun at the shores of the Rhine, and I did it as slow as I could.
