Adding network location to rapid access results in slow start of XYplorer

If you add smb shared folders to rapid access, XYplorer hangs for a couple of seconds before opening up during start up.

I know it is obviously checking if the folders are there. Is it possible to lazy load it?

As you can see there are clearly huge differences.

One more thing, I noticed that if the network folders in rapid access is not available, their icons becomes different (a circle with question mark in the center). Considering that "Init Custom File Icons" takes so long, I suspect that rapid access is checking whether network location is available and render the folder icon accordingly, which takes so long.

Unchecking custom CFI doesn seem to make it a bit faster, but still slow compared to when no network location is present in rapid access.

Init Custom File Icons and Add Rapid Access Folders still takes a lot of time. I double checked that the enable CFI is indeed unchecked.

2) I have now seen how getting icons from network items in RAF can cause slowness, so you were totally on the right track.

It should be faster in the next beta.

However, "Use generic icons for super-fast browsing" should also have done the trick. So there's a chance that something else was causing the slowness (I have a hunch, but let's see what comes out of the next beta first).

It is inconsistent, I went ahead and did a little test, I opened and closed 26.10 and 0106 version 10 times, with 12 seconds between the close and next open, and did a little average calculation:
